Live chat features for your website

Everything Parlar does today, on any website and in WooCommerce stores. All of it is in the Free plan.

Real-time chat in both directions

Messages show up the moment they’re sent, in your visitor’s chat and in your panel.

  • Both sides see when the other is typing.
  • Seen marks tell each side that a message was read.
  • A sound and a browser notification tell you a message came in, even with the tab in the background.
  • Keep the panel open in several tabs: they all stay in sync.
  • If the connection drops, the chat reconnects on its own.

See who’s writing and what they’re looking at

Next to each conversation, the visitor card shows what Parlar knows about the person writing.

  • The page they’re on, with a link to it, updated as they browse.
  • The language the chat is using with them, their browser and which of your websites they’re on.
  • Data your site sends: on WooCommerce, the cart, its total and their number of orders. Any site can send its own fields with CW.setContext().
  • Their name and email, with a Signed-in customer badge, when your site signs their identity.

When nobody is around

Set yourself to Away in the panel, or close it. Visitors then see a short form instead of the chat: their name, email and message.

  • The conversation shows up in your panel marked Left a message.
  • Reply by email in one click when you’re back.
  • If the visitor comes back to your site, they find your reply in the chat.
Example: the chat on a store’s website when nobody is available.

Make the chat look like your website

In the panel’s settings you change the chat and see it in a live preview. Parlar sets the text in white or dark so it stays readable on your color.

  • The name at the top of the chat, and its color.
  • The corner: bottom right or bottom left.
  • Your greeting, the subtitle and the greeting for when nobody is available.
  • A sound for the visitor when your reply arrives.
  • The websites where the chat is allowed to work, up to 20.
Try a color
Pick a color: on yellow, the text switches to dark.

Speaks four languages

The chat and the panel speak English, Spanish, French and Italian.

  • Unless you choose one, the chat uses your page’s language, or the visitor’s browser language if the page doesn’t declare one.
  • Leave a text empty to use the default in each language. Your own text shows in every language.
  • Your team sees which language the chat is using with each visitor.

A 24 KB widget that keeps your site fast

The whole widget is one 24 KB file, about 9 KB once compressed, and it loads in the background without holding up your page.

It runs in its own Shadow DOM, which keeps its styles and yours apart, and every message shows as text.

For developers

Open the chat from your own button, send data to the visitor card or sign your customers’ identity on your server.

// Open, close or toggle the chat from your own button
CW.open();
CW.close();
CW.toggle();

// Show your own fields on the visitor card
CW.setContext({ plan: 'Pro', lastOrder: '#1042' });

// Run code once the chat is ready
window.addEventListener('cw:ready', () => {});
